it's called EclectiQuilts.com I wanted something to say that my quilts weren't like your grandmothers... all my quilts are designed, sewn and quilted by me. And I don't like anything that looks like something you'd find in your grandmothers attic. Not that there's anything wrong with that style of quilt - I think many are beautiful. However they are, IMHO, boring to put together. I want so sew something that hasn't been done before, not something that's been done for centuries.
I began to do this in my spare time (between my full time job and my part time job). I've been sewing for about 30 years - but only began quilting about 6 years ago. It's really taken off in the past 3 years though - I find such freedom in the creative outlet of designing and creating a quilt. There are really no rules to follow - I just make things that say what I want them to say. Well, the older quilts don't say much... but lately they've gotten a voice that I can't seem to quiet. I long for the day when I can figure out how the heck to turn this into a full time job so I can quit my boring day job but until then, I have to scrape together my bits and pieces of time like snippets of fabric and weave them together to form something uniquely "me". Check out the website for current pics of what I've been up to.

I think I like the look of this site better. Are you going to post on both of them, or work on one for a while and then work on the other?
Or are you going to work on neither and just work on quilts instead? :-) hugs
